I have been testing the “AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution” by The Ordinary, about 2 weeks now. I wanted to see if it actually reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles as it claims it does.
The blood-red color of the peeling serum was a little surprising, but it is a good thing because it clearly shows exactly where you have applied it.
This serum is serious stuff, so make sure you follow the directions exactly because if left on too long or applied sooner than every 2-3 days, it can burn the skin.
Speaking of burn there is a stinging in the areas where it is applied, so do as the label instructs and keep it away from the eye area.
You can not leave the serum on your skin for more than 10 minutes, so you need to work quickly to cover your face and neck with the solution, but not so quickly that you get sloppy with the application. You don’t want to accidentally get some in your eyes or drip any of it on a non-washable surface or it will leave a deep red stain.
Because it is referred to as a peel, I expected my face to peel sometime after application, but so far after six applications, my face has not peeled.
On the first and second applications, I couldn’t see much of a difference, but after my fifth and sixth tests, I could see an improvement in the deep & fine wrinkles of my smile lines and with each application, my skin becomes smoother.
Although I do have very sensitive skin, I do not recommend that those with sensitive skin use this product because the burning sensation is pretty intense.
In conclusion, I found that this peeling solution does reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles with repeated use. I anticipate the serum will continue to reduce the appearance of my lines with its continued application. I am impressed. I would give this AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution four stars. I would have given it a five if it did not sting quite so much.
I purchased this little gem at Ulta Beauty for under $10.00.
